KBS Shaft Upgrade and Club Profiling
So KBS shafts are the latest iron shaft technology.
Kenny Perry was the first to switch 2 years ago – he had an awesome year last year and this year he did pretty well.
Adam Scott switched a month or so ago and proceeded to have 4 top 10 finishes recently. He seems to have overcome his recent slump.
I switched from Dynamic gold S300’s to KBS X flex. I used to use DG X100’s but never changed the shafts from my new Wilson irons. I missed the feeling from the x shafts and didn’t feel there was any difference in distance.
While I changed the shafts I profiled the clubs Swingweight and lie for future reference.
Only problem was the clubfitter at the driving range on Suwintawong Road didn’t really know how to use his measurement gear. So I think there is probably some deviance in these measurements.
Anyway here they are:
| Club | Swingweight | CPM | Loft | Lie | Length |
| 3 iron | ? | ? | ? | ? | 39 |
| 4 iron | D2 | 246 | 23.5 | 62 | 38.5 |
| 5 iron | D2 | 254 | 26 | 62 | 38 |
| 6 iron | D2 | 261 | 30 | 62.5 | 37.5 |
| 7 iron | D2 | 267 | 34 | 62.5 | 37 |
| 8 iron | D2 | 275 | 38 | 65 | 36.5 |
| 9 iron | D2 | 280 | 43 | 65 | 36 |
| PW | D2 | 290 | 46 | 66 | 36 |
| PW2 | D4 | 290 | 50 | 66 | 36 |
